Q: What is Biopro-Q?
A: Coenzyme Q10 is often compared to a spark plug that ignites the body’s engine by boosting energy production within cells. This cellular energy is what provides fundamental support for our body’s vital biological processes. Unfortunately, the body’s ability to produce CoQ10 declines with age, making supplementation a good idea for supporting a healthy body and a healthy lifestyle.
Q: What does it do?
A: Biopro-Q supports a healthy heart as well as vascular and immune system functions. Biopro-Q also protects cells from oxidative stress and free radicals with the most potent form of CoQ10, known as Ubiquinol.
Q: What are the key ingredients?
A: Coenzyme Q10:
• Coenzyme Q10 is often compared to a spark plug that ignites the body’s engine by boosting energy production within cells. This cellular energy is what provides fundamental support for our body’s vital biological processes. Unfortunately, the body’s ability to produce CoQ10 declines with age, which makes supplementation even more important for supporting a healthy body and a healthy lifestyle.*
• Biopro-Q contains ubiquinol, the active form of CoQ10, which is found in cells throughout the body. Clinical studies suggest that consuming ubiquinol may boost the body’s supply of CoQ10, including in areas that possess high energy needs like the heart and brain. In some cases, age, nutritional deficiencies and some medications may lower the body’s CoQ10 levels, therefore necessitating supplementation for optimal energy production.
Q: What is the difference between ubiquinone and ubiquinol?
A: Ubiquinol and ubiquinone are both forms of CoQ10. Ubiquinone is the oxidized form of CoQ10 with which most people are familiar, but new research is finding ubiquinol to be the more effective supplement.
In the body, CoQ10 must be converted to the usable form ubiquinol to provide antioxidant protection and generate cellular energy. Because ubiquinol (like that found in Biopro-Q) is pre-converted, it is ready for immediate use by the body, therefore allowing the body to utilize higher levels of CoQ10.
Q: Can children take Biopro Q in supplementation?
A: Children can safely take Biopro Q and add it to their antioxidant and mineral supplementation. It is recommended that they only supplement 1 to 2 mg per pound per day. This means that a 50 pound child can take 50 to 100 mg of Biopro Q daily and this total amount can be divided into two doses. Biopro Q is a small capsule and can be easily swallowed. However, if your child cannot swallow Biopro Q, we would recommend that they not take it.
Q: I have been taking the ubiquinone form of CoQ10. I want to switch over to the Ubiquinol form of CoQ10 that is in BioPro-Q. How much should I be taking?
A: Biopro Q contains a very potent and highly absorbable form of CoQ10 called ubiquinol. Ubiquinol is absorbed anywhere from four to ten times greater, depending on which study you site, than the oxidized or ubiquinone form. Therefore, you can achieve higher levels of CoQ10 using the same amount of Biopro Q as you were taking with the ubiquinone.
CoQ10 is a critical nutrient needed for energy production within the cell. It is also a potent antioxidant that concentrates itself within the mitochondria of the cell where the highest concentration of free radicals is formed. This helps the body not only fight off oxidative stress, but also allows it to produce adequate amounts of energy in the form of ATP. This creates a healthier immune system and a healthier cardiovascular system. Therefore, we would recommend taking one to two Biopro Q for the individual who is in good health. Biopro Q should always be added to the Optimals for even better health results.
Q: Can I take too much BioPro-Q?
A: Dr. Peter Langsjoen, a cardiologist and biochemist, is the head of CoQ10 International, and lead investigator for many clinical trials using CoQ10. In early clinical trials, blood levels of CoQ10 in participants were monitored. However, they never saw any adverse effects of high levels of CoQ10 in the thousands of participants they followed. They concluded that CoQ10 was very safe and that you could not take too much CoQ10. In fact, the higher the levels of CoQ10 that were found in the blood of the participants the better the results they were able to document. They no longer even do blood tests on CoQ10 no matter how much CoQ10 they give their patients or participants in the clinical trials. Therefore, it is felt by everyone that you just can’t get too much CoQ10 and that it is one of the safest nutrients used today in supplementation.
Q: Can BioPro-Q be taken alone?
A: Biopro Q can certainly be taking alone; however, we do not recommend this approach. Everyone needs what is referred to as cellular nutrition. Cellular nutrition is defined as supplementing all of the essential nutrients at their optimal or advanced levels that have been shown to provide a health benefit as shared by experts in medical literature. This is easily accomplished by taking ARIIX’s Optimals, which contain all of these essential nutrients at their optimal levels and are provided in convenient Vitamin and Mineral capsules. Biopro Q should be added to the Optimals as an enhancer. This allows for increased effectiveness of the Biopro Q.
